If any of you have an interest in astronomy and/or photography the Astronomy Picture of the Day (sometimes called 'apod' like A-pod) is really cool. Everyday shows a new picture, some are better than others, but most are really impressive. I've been visiting it for years. apod.nasa.gov/apod/

Did the photographer Photoshop the flare of the sun at the peak? It's seems oddly spectacular.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect that the flare is seen just because that frame had a different exposure time than the others.

Argh! Number 1: Free Will Assuming the "ominpotent God" referenced in this supposed paradox is the God of the Christian Bible, I completely reject the notion of free will as a Reformed Baptist (another way of saying "Calvinist"). This "paradox" presupposes (1) that you believe in an omnipotent God, (2) that there is an authoritative way to know about Him (and His creation), and (3) that there is also "free will". Based upon the verbiage, I believe my assumption would not be unwarranted. Instead of belaboring the issue, let me just say that the Christian Bible doesn't teach free will; yes, the majority of Christian churches do teach it but that has been a relatively recent development in the history of the Church.

- #3 relates to #1
- #6 consists of a false choice fallacy; there are more elegant answers than the one provided by the site.
