Like lustful swain or panicked child
Who beg another's gentle hand,
A clue to solving the entrance puzzle consisting of the maiden, the mother, and the crone. Watcher successfully interpreted this verse...or at least recognized statue that most "appealled" to him.
The fool delves heedless through the wild.
The wise are not so soon beguiled.
Perhaps a reference pointing to the fact that we are in the Feywild. May point to illusion and/or the deceptive lamia.
Count you the shadows, watch the sun,
The wise know where they stand;
While knowing not the time to shun,
The fools must find themselves undone.
Perhaps another reference to the Feywild but also a clue to the shadow clock puzzle.
When darkness falls and dreams portend
The rising of a fearsome foe
The fool, swift striking, meets his end.
The wise know friend from foe.
Darkness fell prior to the attack by our evil-twins, whom we had to be careful to identify. In his attempts to sense what arcane power is at work in this place, Aeron'eth has now experience three visions (dreams). Were those the only foe to whom this verse references? Probably not.
Let art and image point the way.
Abandon all you think you know,
For common sense leads fools astray.
The key is simply this: Obey.
The tapestries hold clues to solving the mysteries of this place. They must be examined for their uniqueness. We must think outside of the box. Assuming we had already obtained the key by now, the tapestry of the door and key is probably vital.
The wise must ever strategize;
They never play, unless to win.
A reference to the gameroom but also a reminder that this place will require us to think our way out.
They see the harm in comfort's lies,
And seek to open weary eyes.
A reference to the enchanted camp that we avoided, despite certain member protest, and the obelisk of which we had Watcher open the eye; we determined that this saved us much trouble.
You've fought your way, you've risked Demise,
Points to Demise, whom most in the fellowship have encountered, and killed, and a few occassions.
To view the ivy heart within.
Now as the soul within you dies,
A reference to the bejeweled eye of the ivy golem we encountered which used the jewel to begin taking (?) the sould of Mummy-John.
This knowledge is your only prize:
You'd never have come, were you truly wise.
Assumes will inevitably die here and will regret ever setting foot here.
