I imagine the name was short for Gwendolyn, but it never really came up. I think the character's full name is written with the single 'n', but when she shortens it, she writes it with a second 'n'. But that's all personal stuff. She wouldn't really care if someone in the game put her name down as Gwen, unless she felt she needed her full name on the paper, for whatever reason.
Though, the list of names for half-elves has it listed as having two 'n's. Meh.
Anyway, Gwenn the Barbarian fell through, so I've constructed an Assassin|Ranger hybrid based off of something I saw in CharOp. Gwenn's family enclave is located in the Eldeen Reaches, so it stands to reason that she explored them as a child when she had the chance. Not sure how to explain the assassin.
Any suggestions?
@kyle: Pass Forward is an excellent method of moving into flanking. That's what I did with my Half-Orc Tempest Fighter in JP's first session.

The murderous hunter feat looks really, really good.

I'll take a look at it. Unfortunately, my current build is somewhat feat-starved, so I don't know how many extra things I can add in. Currently I have:
Weapon Proficiency (Drow Long Knife) @ Lvl. 1 Heavy Blade Expertise @ Lvl. 2 Hybrid Talent (Ranger Fighting Style- Marauder) @ Lvl. 4 Toughness @ Lvl. 6 Mark of Storm @ Lvl. 8
I may be able to take it at Lvl. 10. I'll have to see how combat goes with the current set up of feats.

Mostly because I like the Style and I've never really gotten to try it out for an extended length of time. Two-Blade would probably be better, and free up a slot because of Toughness, but I've always been iffy about my attacks every round degrading into: Twin Strike, Twin Strike, Twin Strike, Twin Strike...

Not that there is anything wrong with that; it's quite potent.

Yeah, there's that too. And there's no doubt as to how potent such tactics are. It's the reason why Rangers are lauded as the Kings of DPR. Though... Maybe I will try such a build out. It's not like I've ever actually played with it before.

Edit: and at paragon that becomes automatic 4D6 (technically 2D6+6 on hit and 3D6+3 on miss)

Since I feel the discussion has degenerated into pure stat power-gaming, I will ask:
Are our characters aware of the changes that have occured, or do they believe they have always been this way?
It matters for Watcher. He likes to be 'aware' of things (hence "Watcher", and "sentinel", etc.). As a fighter he is especially aware of his own physicality and abilities. To be changed by the mists of time might unnerve him.
If he is not aware, then I will have to play him as such.

Your characters are not aware of the changes. This is a retcon. Please clarify "changes"; Are you referring to our classes only or are we wholly alternate versions of our individual selves? Some general questions (some may seem redundant): - What do we know from lives now passed, if anything? - What memories do we have? Are we as Aeron'eth was on the Day of Mourning? Were our other lives even real? - Are our memories (of individuals, places, events, etc.) intact, whether or not they are consistent with the new reality? - Do we still have our possessions? All? Some? - Do we have new possessions? Personally, knowing the extent of the retcon will allow me to gauge how much of old Aeron'eth influences new Aeron'eth (or Aeron, I'm thinking of dropping the "'eth") as it affects most aspects of his character. I'm willing to completely retcon the whole lost memory, follower of Corellon backstory. Perhaps it was necessary to have his memory erased and implanted with some notion of loyalty and purpose to a non-existent diety in order to achieve, or attempt, some specific task. Upon returning to Eberron, Aeron has a "Total Recall" moment (I really like this idea). Aeron'eth could not know the true motives of his task and thus Aeron hid his own past from himself. Essentially, what is the extent of the retcon?

Your characters are not aware of the changes. This is a retcon. Please clarify "changes"; Are you referring to our classes only or are we wholly alternate versions of our individual selves? I will attempt to clarify below. - What do we know from lives now passed, if anything? Everything, changed only slightly to account for different equipment, abilities, etc. - What memories do we have? All of them, except for Aeron'eth, who still can't remember his past, as per your backstory. Are we as Aeron'eth was on the Day of Mourning? No. Were our other lives even real? Yes. - Are our memories (of individuals, places, events, etc.) intact, whether or not they are consistent with the new reality? Yes, except when they are inconsistent with new abilities and equipment. (Example: Watcher catches a blow on his shield-->Watcher catches a blow with his off-hand weapon) - Do we still have our possessions? All? Some? You have the same possessions unless they are now useless/need to be replaced with more appropriate gear for your new abilities. - Do we have new possessions? Only in the case where you need something replaced. For example, Aeron'eth would probably replace the Fullblade with a rod of equivalent value. Personally, knowing the extent of the retcon will allow me to gauge how much of old Aeron'eth influences new Aeron'eth (or Aeron, I'm thinking of dropping the "'eth") as it affects most aspects of his character. He is the same character, with the same memories (mostly), goals and aspirations. That would not fit the explanation I have planned for Aeron'eth's memory hole. Keep your backstory as intact as possible. Instead, feel free to reflavor the Hexblade class.

Okay, so this is strictly a class retcon and our characters are exactly as they've always been. Thus, I will play Aeron'eth as if he has always been a Hexblade. That would not fit the explanation I have planned for Aeron'eth's memory hole. Keep your backstory as intact as possible. Instead, feel free to reflavor the Hexblade class. May I make Corellon, the Azure Star, my warlock's patron? He would be less diety and more powerful entity from the Astral Sea (Siberys) from whom Aeron'eth receives his power. This may still require a slight retcon of his known history. For instance, the relation between Lolth and the drow; the original racism toward drow will be present, but not because they are the followers of Lolth, nemesis of Corellon; there is no Lolth.
