Yeah I noticed that, but I also checked Monte's webpage and blog posting. In it he states that he has a lot of confidence in the developers and that he is sure they will create a fun game. "My decision is one based on differences of opinion with the company. However, I want to take this time to stress that my differences were not with my fellow designers, Rob Schwalb and Bruce Cordell." www.montecook.com/montejournal/Maybe he was just trying to make a graceful exit. I don't know.

The playtest rules for D&D Next are set to come out on 24 May. Anyone interested in giving them a go?

"Roll to save versus cheese." "I get a 26." "You fail. The cheese is eaten."

"Roll to save versus cheese." "I get a 26." "You fail. The cheese is eaten." Ahh but my Belief is that my Mouse is a Vegan and his instinct is to smash the cheese, so I get a bonus! CHEESE RESISTED.

The playtest rules were released today. I've signed up but have been unable to actually download the rules - the link they sent me isn't loading. I've sent a request to the support team asking what's up. Also, part of the playtest agreement is that everyone who is in the group doing a playtest is signed up on Wizard's site and has accepted the playtest agreement. So if you guys want to be legal about it, everyone who wants to playtest needs to sign up with Wizards. Also, there were a couple of online interviews with Mike Mearls posted this week. One is from Wired magazine www.wired.com/geekdad/2012/05/d-d-update-mike-mearlsThe other is from EN World www.enworld.org/forum/news/323442-en-world-interview-mike-mearls-lead-designer-d-d-next.html

Yep, read those and promptly signed up yesterday and am having trouble also: I got the "thank you for signing up email" and then the download link sent me to the sign up page again.

Supposedly, the link in this thread has a link to the appropriate download site. In the thread, WotC_Trevor indicates that they are looking to add more servers, so apparently their servers are being pounded...couldn't have anticipated that, though. So if you're getting a 404, it's because the mice need a break. ;D
