I've been talking to David about coming back sometime in either July or August. When that happens I'll be playing a warforged Paladin. I've pretty much got him built mechanically, but before I finalize him a couple questions to help me figure out how he'll fit in in regards to combat:
As a melee character how often will I be shoulder to shoulder with party members?
How hard/easy is it to achieve combat advantage given the current party make-up/tactics?
How juiced up are you guys in regards to DPR? If you guys are already just blowing things up quite speedily, then I think I've got the right build. If you guys feel like your encounters drag out a bit and have been wishing for some extra "NOS" then I can tweak him more towards the Defender/Striker route. Currently I'm building him more towards the Defender/Controller side by keeping monster focus on me. I was going on the assumption that you guys probably have all the firepower you need and would benefit from a different form of support. (remember my tac lord ridiculousness? I don't think I'll be that juicy, but still quite awesome.)
What's the average AC of the party? Obviously I want to beef up my own AC, but if my AC is significantly higher than the rest of you then it makes it forces enemies to take the punishment of DC/DS and ignore me, which I don't want to happen. Since I'm not using a shield, that shouldn't be an issue, but it's still useful information.
Any other input into how the party operates in combat (strengths, weaknesses) would further help me make some of the fine tuning decisions I'm looking at before I send in my final draft to David.
See ya'll in the future!
