Use this thread for attendance related posts... On that note, who will be able to make it on Oct 28th? I know Halloween parties are floating around, I just want to get a head count to make sure we have at least 3 players. Also, who is going to host

ASFAIK - I'm good to go, I think Mike Brown is going, and I thought David was hosting (which means he's in too?).

I'm hosting. The game needs to end at 6, since I'm taking Lorraine to the airport.
Our Halloween party, at least, is the previous night.

Lorraine's flight was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy and accompanying chaos. No more time restriction for the game.
Also, we have lots of leftover snacks and candy from the party.

Roll Call for this Sunday (12/2):
JP has told me he will be a no show, he has to hang out with a bunch of kids and their parents apparently. Dunno if David's place availability is related to him attending and who knows if Joseph is available. I would like at minimum to have 3 players to run the session.

I'll be available. If Mike is available and David is hosting, that's the 3?

A huge work project came up this week (I'm in the office as I write) and I will be working all weekend and won't be at the game tomorrow. Sorry for the short notice.

He teamed up with anti-Xenos and destroyed the main base of O.D.I.N. while we were inside. My game starts next time at my house. Was this because he thought he was helping future-Gigavolt? So in the debriefing we learned a couple things about how the timestream was affected. First you need to know that Gigavolt is from a future where the entire world is an ideal utopia at peace where EVERYONE has superpowers so for the most part everything is "balanced." Everyone has powers so no one is necessarily "special." There are no wars or conflicts of any kind. His first trip back in time changed this which is why he was so confused when he knew nothing of the events happening. O.D.I.N. already existed in our current time (2014) but they were purely clandestine and ONLY monitored the world. Gigavolt going back in time (the first time) and meeting with the rest of the PCs resulting in the Penny Park incident changed O.D.I.N.'s stance and altered the future. That incident caused O.D.I.N. to go bat-shit crazy and create sentinels, curfews, hunter squads, etc. in 2nd Gigavolt's ("Teravolt") future 15 years from now in 2029. Teravolt went back in time with the help of the rest of the Discordia team to stop O.D.I.N. from becoming the mutant hunter organization they would become by 2029. No one actually died in any of their strikes or even in the destruction of the O.D.I.N. base. Teravolt and the rest of the Discordia team were actually captured in the last battle you were at so it ended up being Gigavolt and Anti-Xenos (Human-man) that took out O.D.I.N.'s main base. Gigavolt infiltrated and while getting shot multiple times I was able to EMP the mainframes. Doing so probably only delayed O.D.I.N. some time and will probably make them even more mutant fearful in retrospect. What can you do though? The "correct" timeline of peace was already destroyed by the first journey through time and every subsequent journey is made in an effort to fix it. At that point then you're really combating what is "destiny" and inevitable. It seems that O.D.I.N. now becoming a mutant hunting organization is inevitable. I want to say the entire campaign ended with a feeling of why didn't the PCs trust each other and communicate with each other more. Some things were said about "Gigavolt should have trusted us" and also "why should he when you point guns at him and shoot him all the time." Gigavolt tried multiple times to reach out to the PCs to trust him or to help him and vice versa as well. No one trusted anyone. All in all somewhat frustrating but satisfying in that it felt realistic because of the exasperation derived from lack of trust and communication which made for a good tragic story.

Also note: Gigavolt did not know the rest of the PCs were inside the base when he laid out the plans for Human-man. Human-man decided to destroy the base himself with everyone (including Gigavolt) inside because he felt like it instead of waiting for the signal from Gigavolt. NO ONE DIED. In fact, the only one that got seriously hurt was Gigavolt because he got shot full of holes by the guards led by Myriad and Archer.

I agree, the tragedy does make for a good story.
Trust is a tricky thing in situations where it's not inherent. You can say you're from the future and you're here to help, but in order for anyone to believe you they must already trust you; you're the alien. So divulging information isn't a means to trust, it's built on experience.
Traveling back in time. Don't do it, man. Just...don't.
