Hey guys, are you playing a game on April 6? If so, may I join you?? I'll find myself in So Cal during that week and it would be awesome if I could meet up with you guys for some RPG-ing.

We won't have our current game playing on that day but some of us will be in town and want to play with you again. I would love to run a one-off dungeon delve if no one else has other ideas or plans.

AFAIK - I think we discussed this lightly on Sunday.. I think JP wants to run a low level 4e, like level 2 or 3 max, just to get more story/adventure instead of sitting in combat.
Alternatively, I have tons of board games, and I can probably convince Stephen to bring some of his too so we can do whatever.
Too bad thornwatch isn't out =/

A 3rd level 4e game sounds good to me.
JP - when you get a chance can you give us an idea of the theme of the game? Dungeon delve = treasure hunt?? Want to share any monster types? I just want to make a character that will be appropriate for the story (e.g., mercenary/monster-slayer-for-hire like Geralt, paladin to the rescue, or Indiana Jones archeologist type). I could play anything, really, I just want to match the theme of the game you have in mind.

I want in! I probably wouldn't be there till 1pm, but I can make it a point to show up for a single sunday game like this.
I'm up for whatever, but I think in honor of Kyle, the Tomb of Horrors DM reward adventure might be fitting. That adventure is ridiculously brutal! Unmodified of course. Run as-is to the letter.
Lawrence Schick wrote in the foreword (of the re-release of the original version of which this is a 4e conversion): "The dungeon of the demi-lich Acererak was, for Gary, a kind of thought experiment: If an undead sorcerer really wanted to keep his tomb from being plundered by greedy adventurers, how would he do it? The answer, of course, was to defend the crypt with tricks and traps designed not to challenge the intruders but to kill them dead. And furthermore, to do it in ways so horrific that all but the most determined party would give up and leave well enough alone."
I have it and it's no joke. Everybody should probably bring a second character just in case.

Oh oh! And character themes! We should pick a theme and all of us make characters that fit that theme. It can be simple and straightforward like "halfings only" or more abstract like "something borrowed, something blue." We can post ideas and Kyle can pick.

The PCs are a diplomatic party sent by a town to negotiate an unpopular edict about to be passed by the governor of the region. You can either be a town council person, other kind of citizen, third party merc hired as an emissary or whatever else is related. The edict involves human sacrifice as a toll for use of a trade waterway in order to appease Erathis to bring rain to the land. The region has been in severe drought for quite some time now which has been affecting livestock and crop production.
Your port town of Relkingham sits on a land bridge straddling a large river making it an important trade and transportation hub. Merchants and sailors frequent the town and often take up residence because of its lucrative appeal.
Level three characters with only common magic items. Not even uncommon.
Reply back with any questions.

Hey guys. My wife said we can use our house in Fontana off the 10 freeway. She'll even make traditional Taiwanese fried rice for us.
The downside is we wouldn't be able to start 'til 1pm. Thought I'd offer since some of you come from further away

1pm is our normal starting time anyhow so nothing to worry about.

We're going to play at Phil's house since we set that up already but thanks for the offer Joseph.
So far we have Kyle, Mike, Phil, Joseph, Micah, and Stephen right?

I'm hoping I can make it, but it's not a definite.
If I do, though, it will likely mean I cannot make David's game on the 13th; I want to hang out with Kyle for an afternoon...the rest of you regulars as well, I suppose. I've been working nights and weekends the past several weeks and it's been really taxing on Rachel as she's been lecturing every once in a while at the university and I've left her few opportunities to prepare besides her normal jobs in consulting, therapy, and taking care of our kids.

So my house then. My wife will not be making traditional taiwanese fried rice because it's once in a blue moon she cooks and hell if I'm wasting that on you guys.
Bring your own everything.
