Thom Darknose (pronounced Dar-noz)
A member of the town council, Thom gets assigned to the venture even though he thoroughly protests. Thom, having barely any idea how to use a weapon comes with a hand crossbow, the only weapon he could use without much effort and vocalizes his discomfort with the group as much as possible. How could he have ended up on this adventure?!

I'll bring two characters. I haven't decided which to play yet, and I'll have a backup just in case something unspeakable happens *gulp*.
Gander von Shaw - 3rd son of Wilhelm von Shaw and Annette von Shaw (née: duPont). The von Shaw family has several large trade contracts that port through Relkingham. Trade in textiles, spices, and fine luxuries have fed the coffers of the von Shaws for several generations, not to mention a few slightly less than legal transactions. The noble family traces its lineage back to Kraus von Shaw, a first cousin of then King Andrew the Longrider.
Wilhelm II, first son of Wilhelm and Annette, has traveled to Forthkingham to establish trades with the barons of that region. Myrcella, Gander’s older sister, lives with her husband and three children in estates in Ironwatch, many leagues from home. And David, second son of Wilhelm and Annette, formerly passed in a duel defending the honor of his betrothed, Seline. Thus, the duty of traveling to beseech the Governor not to impose this strict regulation has passed to Gander.
Gander, never really cared for the political life of the nobles. He spent his youth studying books rather than practicing diplomacy. Master Thomas recognized magical talent in Gander and had tried to get him to enroll in the Arcaneum. But Annette, Gander’s mother, refused it and later enlisted her brother Francis to instruct Gander on the ways of their family, sorcerous ways.
OR
Kildrak Axeborn - Kildrak’s mother was named Hilde, and she was warrior of the north. In those days orcs swarmed the land and threatened civilization itself. Hilde’s brother Bar the Goldenaxe led the armies against the orcs. But the orcs laid ambush to the dwarven camp, killing many. Hilde was in bed when orcs burst into her tent. Two of her maid servants were slain immediately, but she drew steel to defend herself. She was overcome by the attacking orcs, and one sliced through her belly. And though she was not pregnant, a dwarven hand sprung forth from her womb to grab the orcish axe. Kildrak lept from his mother’s body fully grown with a mane and beard of golden hair that shone with the heat of Moradin’s forge. He slew two orcs with one swoop of the axe. In his hands, the axe reformed into a dwarven masterpiece, it’s polished steel reflected light like a mirror.
Kildrak emerged from his mother’s tent and was immediately surrounded by dozens of orcs. One hulking beast of an orc stepped forward to challenge him. But he was no match; Kildrak was born of battle, and battle was his lifeblood. The orc fell quickly. The others, intimidated by the sheer ferocity of this dwarf, fled in terror.
That’s the story of Kildrak Axeborn. At least, that’s the one that gets told in the taverns at night in Relkingham. Kildrak is a legendary warrior of the Relkingham Bridgewatch, the men in blue and silver who guard the town from all things that seek to harm it. Kildrak was selected to guard the envoy to the Governor. His battle prowess is well known within Relkingham, but his true dwarf heritage is a mystery. He is an honorable warrior who defends the weak with the fierceness of the northern winters.

Would anyone be able to give me a ride to the game on Sunday? I am staying at a house in Moreno Valley, not too far from Redlands - probably 20 min drive. If not, I can borrow my girlfriend's car, but it would be easier for us if someone could give me a ride. Let me know, thanks!

Angela Mallory is an acolyte sent from the Temple of Ioun in the nearby Korr mountain range. She was raised in the temple by the priests after she was orphaned as a newborn when her mother died during childbirth, at least that is what she was told for many years. Cato, the elder priest who was both father and mentor to Angela, eventually told her that if she wanted to know more of her past that she seek it out with the midwife Brangwen, who may have moved from Relkingham to someplace else within the region. First, she must serve as part of the Relkingham envoy so that she might determine the nature of the governor's edict; the priests are skeptical of the veracity of the claim that the human sacrifices are to appease Erathis.
Angela is considered tall for a human woman, and in good physical shape. Her head is shaved bald and is adorned with tattooed markings of Ioun that include one that forms a small symbol of Ioun around her left eye. Her skin has almost a red tone, evidence of a lifetime on the mountain, with an otherwise light complexion. She wears traveling clothes, instead of the traditional garb of the temple, as well as a cloak and leather bracers. At her left hip is longsword and about her neck is a necklace of beads the size of avocado pits, each a sphere of polished ebony except one; a symbol of Ioun is chipped into the center bead, a sphere of obsidian taken from the dormant volcano that lies within the Korr mountain range.

Iados Rashmatash - tiefling psion (JP more details concerning "alignment" and motivations are in your message box)
Iados is also a council member. Haughty and arrogant, other council members are loathe to praise him, but they cannot ignore his immense popularity not only among the people, but among higher ranking officials beyond the city. He claims to no longer have a home town, his home city having been ravaged by the forces of chaos. When pressed for details he is dodgy, but exceptionally cunning and clever with his words. Other councilmen recognize the fact that due to his talent for words and politics gaining his support on an issue greatly enhances the chance of victory. They also hate the fact that behind closed doors he's such a smarmy mother fucker, made even worse that he's by far the newest member of the council and never before has a foreigner rose so high so fast. However, it's also clear to the other councilmen that he clearly has his sights set on rising further so they are hopeful he will find and seize the opportunity to move on to "bigger and better things" elsewhere.
His one other redeeming quality among his council peers, and a favorite among the people, is there is a predictability about him in his politics; he is an adamant believer in the absolute power of the law. While he is a person to keep an eye on when making deals, he can be counted on to never break the law or otherwise usurp the law. He has proven 100% immune to corruption thus far and crime has been greatly reduced since the introduction of many of his anti-crime initiatives. Furthermore his ideas and beliefs are apparently never swayed by emotion due to his dedication to "a cult of intellectualism." However, some councilmen are a little concerned that he may be so excessively dedicated to the intellectual, that he frequently disregards the moral when the two are in conflict...
For Iados, he is investigating first and foremost the truth of the matter, secondly to uncover anything happening that would violate city, province, or royal law, and finally to determine fair punishment under the law if punishment is due.
