Crim, Yonten, and Moon Beam Sky Willow were deep into an investigation into poisoned crops and had just revealed a shocking truth about the spiritual advisor of the town of Dalforth, Vicar Algon.
Interrogations of orcs in a local cave revealed that they have been assisting someone name Lysa, a name that Crim recognized, having spent some time in Dalforth recently. Lysa was new to Dalforth, and had begun befriending many of the townsfolk. The orc leader revealed, under duress, that Lysa was an adopted member of their clan. Apparently she had been abandoned by her human parents in the wilds outside a distant town called Carrington Cross. The orcs took her in and raised her as their own. Upon reaching adulthood, and having been raised in the orc culture, Lysa became obsessed with finding her parents and exacting retribution for their injustice.
After interrogating a brother in the priesthood, Lysa discovered her father's present-day location: Dalforth. Though Vicar Algon has been a peaceful member of the community, indeed a spiritual leader, he has apparently been hiding this dark secret of his past. Lysa accuses him of abandoning her in the wilds and now seeks his downfall.

Crim, Yonten, and Moon Beam Sky Willow return to Dalforth to find that a crowd has gathered at the local temple. Upon entering they see that Lysa leads them. They accuse the goddess Dagma of abandoning them and causing the blight on their crops. Lysa has promised that the god Aeshma will right the wrongs that have been done in the town, and restore the crops if only justice is served. She has worked the crowd into a fervor, who now demand justice for any committed sins so that their town will be spared any future plague.
One of the town's guard holds Vicar Algon pinned to the alter before the the statues of the Angels of Justice, Soren and Sara, whose marble eyes supernaturally weep with viscous red blood.
“Do you repent your sins, Vicar Algon?” Lysa shouts accusingly.
“By the gods, help me!” the elderly vicar appears to be weeping uncontrollably.
The townsfolk are enraged by the display and cheer for the zealous Lysa. With a shimmer of magic, the image of Lysa changes. Most notably her hair turns from black to red, and something about her eyes has changed as well.
“Look closer, father!” she spits the last word out with a seething anger. “Do you not recognize your own daughter? You left me! You abandoned me! You were too weak to kill me yourself, and now your sin has returned, demanding retribution!”
