Sharing is caring . . .
I thought I'd just share about the game that I've joined recently. A couple months ago I was playing with a group on Roll20, and that game led into a Ravenloft adventure. I played the first couple days, but then I went traveling to London and New Haven. The group finished the adventure without me. Now I'm back in Concepcion for the foreseeable future.
This week we started a Tyranny of Dragons campaign. I'm playing a tiefling fighter with a Sage (Wizard's Apprentice) background, and I plan to take the Eldritch Knight path. His name is Akmenos Azazel, son of Kairon and Akta. He spent some of his youth studying with his Aunt Kallista in a town outside of Baldur's Gate. When the town was attacked by a dragon recently, Kallista was killed, and Akmenos inherited the remains of her library. Her life's work is a series of tomes related to dragonology. I'm trying to make my in-character voice raspy like there's smoke damage in his larynx or something (tiefling - fire - devils - get it?), but I'm really hoping I don't sound like a bad version of batman.
The other characters in the party include a dwarf fighter (m), a dwarf barbarian (m), a wood-elf druid (m), and a tiefling sorceress (f; played by m), and a human (maybe?) warpriest (m).
So far it has been good. When making our characters, we developed bonds between characters by coming up with some shared background. In-game we are playing with more of a "theater of the mind" style with some rough maps for guides. Maybe the DM will have a more detailed battle map in the future. We only play for a couple hours on Saturday mornings, so it isn't like our 6 hour Sunday afternoon sessions.
Now the Tyranny of Dragons (potential spoilers ahead) . . .

.
We started out by escorting a caravan from Baldur's Gate to the town of Greenest in the south. We did some roleplaying between the characters, introducing ourselves. When we got close to Greenest, the party spotted a dragon attacking the town. A short while later a group of villagers came rushing up the road. Everyone jumped in the bushes as the dragon swooped overhead. We then decided to hustle into town to assist with evacuations and check on the family of one of the party members. We got into town and came across some human raiders. We fought them off; I killed two of the raiders, knocked out a third, and suffered only minor injuries. Our sorceress wasn't as lucky. She was immediately dropped before she could act, which was a bit worrisome. The dwarven fighter spent most of the encounter wrestling with one of the raiders, who eventually escaped his grasp, and I had to knock him out. Upon interrogating our one living raider, he only said they were mercenaries hired by a group simply known as, "the cult". Our dwarven fighter was less than impressed with the originality of their name.
We actually had two player characters missing from that encounter; our druid had to leave early, and the dwarf barbarian was still in the town somewhere to be found.
...
That's as far as we got in our first day of adventure, but it was really fun! Oh yeah, we also stream the games. We did that previously on Twitch, and actually got some people watching us and cheering us on - which was a little strange. But this time, I think they are just on YouTube. I don't know. It is very weird to listen to one's own voice. I don't know about you guys, but I actually really dislike the recorded sound of my voice. It is so very different from the voice that I hear when I speak.
Chao for now! I'll keep you updated on my Tyranny of Dragons adventures.
