I need some help making characters for use with my game club at school. When I first started I could just use the H1 pre-gens, but the party is at level 6 now and they won't work as well, plus they are limited in options.
So here is the deal. I want one character of each class from PHB 1 level 6. Race doesn't matter. You can only use PHB 1 and nothing else. Each submitted character sheet is worth 200xp. (a tad over 5% of the xp you need for the next level)
First come first serve. Phil you are free to make the same offer to your guys if you want. Give them xp and hand the characters to me. I'll post here which characters I no longer need. I only want one of each class so, for example, if someone gives me a paladin all future paladin submissions will be appreciated, but no reward will be given.

Nice, I'll roll you up a character or two. I think I might actually already have a couple. I'll let you know.
Question: How do you want the stats done? Pick an array or roll?

I don't care. The main purpose is for new players. How I do it is session one for a student they get a pre gen and I throw them in the game so they get a taste of how it works. Once they figure out if its for them or not I give them the option of keeping that character or re-rolling from scratch.

hmmm...I'm starting an 'Elective Class' for adults (yes, I'll be getting $19.50US to DM...heh) and I think pre-gen characters is the way to go. Thanks for the idea Joseph!! My class will be all noob's, so yeah...if anyone wants to fire me some level one characters I'd appreciate it.
No experience will be awarded...but at least I won't punch you in the face.

yeah, that's what i'm using. it's even simpler. auto build feature. just put in the race/class. then i just go in and tweak stupid choices, and then you ship it out ... fairly simple.

Except for the fact that I quite clearly said I need level 6. But thanks for that completely useless suggestion anyway. What do they skip reading class in British Schools? Or maybe we had a second homie in the group and just never realised it! I will still need a warlord. And one other class I'll figure out when I go through Phil's classes. One of them has an item from the AV and I'm being strict about the PHB 1 only thing. This is for completely fresh newbies who've never even heard of DND much less played it, so I don't want anything on a pregen they can't find on their own in PHB1.

Gary another thing my players really appreciated early on was index cards I made that explained what they could do on their turn. I wrote the three types of actions and the most common generic examples of what can be done with those actions. (attack, shift, drink a potion, etc.) I passed them out at the beginning of each section for them to use as a reference when trying to remember what they could do on their turn.

Uh....please send me copies if you have them on your pc. I'm hoping to make this as painless as possible to keep interest up. I'm even diving 'in-pocket' to buy dice for everyone. If I can get paid to play at work, it's worth it!!!

That's right....I'm lazy. So what? I'm fat now, too. Anyone have a problem with that? If you do, Vince will beat your ass. He thinks the extra baggage is sexy, and he likes the fact that I'm lazy and don't over-exert myself. He loves me for who I am.
