Hey [DM name here]. Thanks for letting me join your game and smash a few heads but I'm positive that I'll have to graciously bow out. Gas money isn't easy to come by nowadays and my parents want me to choose either Saturday or Sunday to go to the guild and as you know I DM Saturdays. Also, I plan on graduating this June, barring one summer quarter of Spanish, so I'd like to tone down my DnD a bit. Thanks again. If there are still games running this summer or fall at the guild I'd love to pick up again when I'm done with school and have a job myself. Looks like JP is using a form letter.

It was the fastest way to get my point across before class started.

My heart is broken. I'll never DM again.
OK JP. I'll work out something for Darkfire.
If you find that you have time in the future, you are welcome at my game.

I'm too lazy to think up of some clever comment here. I'll just type something like...
I'm sad I'll never get the chance to play D&D with JP. (well, we did play D&D Encounters. But you got owned there. Which was still pretty fun to watch.)

Yes. I am running the game this Sunday.
Recall last week the party traveled to the small coastal town of Floatsam. The party arrived just in time to help defend the town from a band of marauding frost giants (go figure). After a long and arduous battle (lasting about 5 min of game time) they defeated the frost giants. A man introduced himself to the party as Kas, and after a brief discussion comparing the priorities of the party's quest to those of the town, a tsunami wave crashed ashore depositing a small group of slaads. During the battle, Kas revealed himself to be a djinn and assisted the party in defeating the slaads. Proving themselves valorous in the djinn's view, the party secured Kaseem's (for that is his true name) help in getting to the Frost Spire, a mysterious island located somewhere in the sea of chaos beyond . . .

Mike already informed me that he will miss the game on Sunday. Will there be anyone else absent this Sunday? I hear it's some ridiculous religious holiday where egg-laying rabbits symbolize the resurrection of the son of god.

I hear it's some ridiculous religious holiday where egg-laying rabbits symbolize the resurrection of the son of god. I'll be there. I have invited a player who was in my Wednesday Encounters. Also invited another player to join David's game next week. Also, a bit rude to trash religions don't ya think?

Also, a bit rude to trash religions don't ya think? I don't really consider what I wrote "trashing". In some sense it really is ridiculous. The bunny, the egg, even the date, it's all been adapted from previous religions celebrating Spring and fertility. What's with the bunny-egg connection anyway? They're mammals! Now that's a miracle. People should realize that and laugh at it. Believe what you will, you're free to do so, but in the words of Eugene Hutz: "The first time that I read the Bible It had struck me as unwitty I think it might start a rumor That the Lord ain't got no humor" Were you offended? Actually, I had an extra long paragraph really ripping into it, "trashing" would be accurate, but decided to refrain. This may not be the 'appropriate' forum. But yes, I do hold religions in contempt for the most part (though not completely). I live in America and I'm free to hold that view. I'm happy to have a conversation with you about it if you'd like.

I really have no care either way. I'm not atheistic, but I dunno. I find it offensive in the spirits of anyone else who does. Sure there is free speech but there should always be control and limitation to it. Right place right time kind of thing.

Fair enough. I see your point. I agree with Voltaire. Heh. Voltaire is actually a pretty badass D&D character name.

OK. Thanks for the heads up, Robert. That means we'll have three of our regular player (Phil, David, and Gabe) plus one new person that Phil is bringing, who I assume has been vetted by Phil and knows what he/she is getting into with a paragon game. Game on Sunday!

He's a newbie. I had some slight issues with him, but he seems cool if he RPs.
