“Kuaya, we have no leads on your brother, and we have searched all of Haven from the Cleanest Tavern to the 3rd Filthiest Inn. I believe it is time we move on. Listen, I have just received word from a man named Usef in Bracedon. He tells me he has found out information about a friend of mine, Shaw. Yuriel knew of Shaw’s disappearance. It is a long shot, but it is the only lead I know, left, that connects to Yuriel. Please, come with me to Bracedon…”
And so they were off. Keira had left a few weeks earlier to help her friend recouperate, or so Reliance was told. All that was left one morning was the Amulet of Passage and a note. Dak and Sammel stayed in Haven to search for Sibylox, though Reliance felt they would have better time searching Bracedon.
---
Upon arrival in Bracedon, Reliance learns that the bald man from her past, the one who shamed her father, had captured Shaw. Upon a soon arriving day called “The Day of Black Sun”, Shaw would be sacrificed in some unholy ritual. The Shest Grada and Knightmares were working hard, deciphering ancient texts to find the time and place of the ritual, but Reliance grew impatient every day that past where no answers were found. The bald man had to be near and if she could find him and Shaw, she could solve two problems at once.
Upon one dreamless night, Reliance awoke startled. Unable to return to sleep, she climbed the tower on the Shest Grada campus, and stood upon its peak. She could see past Bracedon’s walls into the darkness of the lands beyond. The sky was filled with clouds, and not a drop of moon light lit the grounds. Reliance scowled, praying to the pantheon to show her an answer and let her redeem her father’s name. As if in answer, a beam of light pierced the clouds and moon spilled upon a section of the land far to the west. Ruins. That was the answer. It was there, and she knew it. Reliance gathered her things and on her obsidian steed, charged off into the night.
---
During the next day Kuaya searched for Reliance, ponderous at her whereabouts. It was a strange kind of day, and it got even stranger as during high noon, city folk stared up into the sky. Kuaya looked up herself and noticed that the sun was slowly being swallowed by blackness… The day of black sun! Kuaya jumped to her feet and raced to find Usef. Together, they searched Bracedon and the surrounding areas, but Kuaya knew something was wrong, she could not feel Reliance’s tie through the Amulet of Passage.
---
Reliance returned to Bracedon, as if nothing happened, 3 days later. Her features were slightly different, noticed Kuaya (a skilled mummer), as if Reliance radiated a different type of feeling, it was strange, but Reliance appeared to be more attractive, as if her demeanor changed overnight, her skin looking smoother, and the usual mask of confidence Reliance wore changed to a sly grin of mischievous delight.
Donning different armor and no longer wielding her heavy blade, Kuaya and Usef both questioned Reliance. With an air of haughtiness, Reliance explained that she had overcome the ritual and that Shaw had killed himself during the ritual to try and disrupt it. The bald man had fallen victim to the ritual instead and she used herself as a conduit to let the arcane energies flow into and out of her instead of powering the ritual. As the energy flowed into her, it destroyed her equipment (along with the Amulet of Passage!), and blocked off a lot of her magical abilities (“arcane fusing” she claimed). However, it did unlock a lot of new potential and gave her more power than she could care to wield. She took the bald man’s equipment, and, claiming that due to the bald man’s death powered ritual and how the energy flowed within her she was able to wield the bald man’s equipment with ease.

Ask any questions you have to Reliance's explanation from your character's stand point (if your character would ask), or ask anything OOC and I will try to answer as best I can.
David and Zach, let me know if it's cool what I wrote about your characters. David, I also assume that there will be time After this occurs in which Kuaya and Reliance travel together, so if you want to resolve anything with your character keep this in mind!
