Hey guys,
Figured we'd compile our current resources together for everyone to use.
Players:
Wizards of the Coast Character Builder - DnD Insider Required - Standard online character builder that is up to date with most errata and is updated frequently.
Wizards of the Coast Compendium - DnD Insider Required - Online character builder doesn't include all the descriptions, powers, or features of the characters they guild. Compendium does.
CBLoader - A custom program using the old character builder with updated rules. IMO If you can load this onto your computer it's worth the effort to maintain and use it.
Excel 4E Character Builder - Excel sheet that does all your character building math for you.
DM's:
Wizards of the Coast Adventure Tools - DnD Insider Required - An online tool that allows you to edit/adjust monsters and search them up quickly. In my opinion use the classic offline tool and you can import the monsters directly into Combat Manager. If anyone knows an updated version of the offline tool, let me know!
Combat Manager - A simple to use combat manager that tracks stats. You can load encounters on the fly, add monsters from the stat block library, track initiative and ongoing damage. Pretty much everything you need for encounters.
PyMapper - An amazing tool that needs a bit of tweaking to understand, but allows you to fully envision your dungeon and encounter maps using WotC's dungeon tiles. You can even print out the entire map etc.
A guide to dungeon design - A great document about better dungeon design to be inventive and fun! It has tons of examples and layouts.
The Angry DM Blog - If you have not read this guy's blogs you are not as good a DM as you think you are. This guy's articles will make you a better DM guaranteed. Warning: They are long. If you are the TL;DR type then don't bother and continue to be a pussy DM.
