Phil, is it still okay for me to go hang out at your place? There are too many distractions at my house.

Yeah i'll probably just take armor, haha, but there are some spells that require attack rolls. In a preview they mentioned like a wand of unquenchable fire, that does + to fire spell rolls/dmg/dc and an effect. I mean obviously that's like super powerful but I didn't know if there was an equiv or anything.
Micah - I have to leave early from the session... plus you'd be downstairs while i was upstairs, and that might be a little weird? So respectfully, I'd prefer not, but my house is open if you can't find an alternative, you'd just have to be kicked out when i leave.

Some changes people are noticing already:
1.Rogues get sneak attack dice at 1st, 3rd, & 5th levels (total of 3d6 at 5th). 2. Ranged attacks have disadvantage if within 5 ft. of a hostile creature. 3. Experience tables have changed to 300 (2), 900 (3), 2700 (4), 6500 (5). 4. Speed reduction is different for heavy armor. It's dependent on strength and reduces you by 10 feet. 5. Spells are detailed for what components they require. All require verbal, most (not all) require somatic, some require material. 6. Spell list has seen some changes (omissions and additions). 7. Experience system and values are very different for monsters, generally yielding more XP than playtest. 8. RETRACTED 9. Charge is nowhere to be found (though I assume this will be in the full game).
1) Disengage is different. Instead of a half move to not provoke opportunity attacks, you use your standard action to go into disengage "mode" and you can move your full distance and provoke no opportunity attacks during that time. 2) Flanking - I don't see anything in here about rules around flanking. It was when you were attacking an enemy that was next to an ally that could see and attack it, you got advantage. I just can't find that in here, don't think I'm missing it either. You can "help" a friendly by distracting or using a feint on an enemy they are adjacent to and allow them to get an advantage roll (the friendly). This seems to have taken the place of flanking, which appears to no longer be an automatic bonus as it was. 3) Searching is wisdom (Perception) or Intelligence (Investigation) depending on the nature of your search. 4) Everyone gets a proficiency bonus of 2 to start with at first level (all pre-generated PCs included are level 1 and have +2 Proficiency bonuses). 5) Critical hits (rolling a natural 20 on an attack roll) is an auto-hit no matter the target's AC and now you roll the dice for the damage twice and add your bonuses after (not doubling them). The only disadvantage listed to fumbling (natural 1) is that you auto miss. 6) One of the pre-generated character sheets shows a new background I hadn't seen before - Folk Hero. Another has Acolyte but I think I saw that one before.
Just copying/pasting from reddit.

So... The wizard arcane tradition i want to use isn't in the basic rules =/ Should i just stick with basic or can I use the other arcane tradition from playtest? Otherwise pretty much everything is the same from playtest.

Might as well ask, is it okay to use half orc from playtest for my Basic fighter?

The rogue has it built-in, though, so that's nice. How? They get to apply sneak attack if they have advantage, or can forgo the need for advantage if an ally is next to the enemy they are attacking. They do not get flanking?

They do not get flanking? You're correct, I read too much into the rule. Anyhow, no feats?!! I has sad.

Hey, just downloaded my copy of the rules. I'll go through them. "Basic" is a good descriptor for this pdf - many of the features, e.g., feats, won't be in basic, but will be in the more "advanced" PHB.
The Basic D&D pdf will serve as our rule book. For features that are not in the Basic pdf, but are in the play test rules, just use the play test version. This should include class paths, feats, etc. Hopefully there won't be too many conflicts.
Yes, Phil, you may use the arcane tradition from the play test packet. Yes, Micah, you may use the half-orc race from the play test packet.

I'm having trouble finding the character sheet in Roll20 and navigating it in general. Is there audio/video chat built in?

There are both audio and video chats built in, but last time we did not use them. Joseph was having some trouble getting his to work properly, so I started a google hangout for audio chat, which was run outside the Roll20 system.
I will list directions to access your character sheet.
1. Enter the game with the "launch game" or "join game" button. 2. Above the chat window, the third icon is the "journal" tab. It looks like a newspaper. Click it. 3. In the character list you will find one labeled "Placeholder (Micah)". Double click it to open. 4. There should be three tabs available "Bio & Info", "Character Sheet", and "Attributes and Abilities". You can safely ignore the last tab for our game. Fill out the character sheet. It contains built in macros that we will use during the game.
You can minimize the character sheet by double clicking in the header next to your name. Double click again to maximize.
I will place a character token on the virtual table and link it to your profile later today.
