Hey guys, I heard about this game about a month ago called Dawn of Worlds. I've been playing in a turn-based session on Roll20 with another group, but I think it works much better as a table top game. The premise of the game is that you collectively (either collaboratively or competitively) get to build your own game world. The players basically act as gods and each round they get to do something to shape the course of history on the game world. You begin with just a blank map that is an outline of your continent (or other land mass). Then each god takes a turn to shape the land, build mountains, rivers, forests, etc. You can also create races, godly avatars, nurture and influence the people on the planet. Here is the link if you want to check it out. The rules are actually pretty short, and the game is intended to be played in one session. www.clanwebsite.org/games/rpg/Dawn_of_Worlds_game_1_0Final.pdf

Could be a great way to homebrew a gameworld before starting a new DnD campaign maybe?

Exactly. Because everyone participates in creating the world, everyone is on the same page when the RPG starts. You could be a cleric of the same deity that you played in Dawn of Worlds. You know about all the geography and history between the races. It removes some control from the DM/world creator, but it immerses the players more, because they already know the world history.
