Second option is a point buy with 5 extra points (to maintain somewhat even parity with other characters). "Even parity"? I think Mummy-John and I have crazy high scores; I'm embarrassed simply mentioning it. Hence the "somewhat."

If the weapon or armor type you use changes, feel free to swap it out for the nearest equivalent you can find. Otherwise, keep your equipment.
For example, if Watcher goes the two-weapon route, it will simply be assumed that he lost one of his swords, rather than his shield, to the mist. His warsoul longsword can be a warsoul short sword (I think there was a problem with embedded heavy blades, anyway) and the +2 plate can be +2 finemail.

Well, I will say that I've been tinkering with the proposed five extra points in the Character Builder and I'm not unhappy with the arrays I've been getting.

Then I'll go with a Vanguard Longsword (maybe bastard sword?) for the main-hand weapon. You may not want to mix heavy and light blades. Also, Tempest Fighters only get their +1 attack on weapons with the offhand property.

It's looking like Aeron may remain an Avenger|Swordmage with a bit of respecing of feats due to feat starvation: - dropping Weapon Prof: Fullblade for Distant Vengeance (allows using Oath of Enmity benefit with RBAs). - somehow acquiring Avenging Resolution (damage rolls of 1 and 2 are treated as 3s against my OoE; this works great with a Falchion). - dropping Power of Skill (makes Overwhelming Strike a MBA) in favor of Intelligent Blademaster + a Farbond Falchion (no more Fullblade) to give him a RBA, of which he lacks. OR - dropping Power of Skill (makes Overwhelming Strike a MBA) and Overwhelming Strike itself in exchange of Intelligent Blademaster and Avenging Shackles as a RBA. I have reservations, though, in swapping Overwhelming Strike since it has proven so useful as an at-will control power and, to some extent, a MBA. I'm still open to the idea of respecing the entire class and am also open to suggestions. Some of the classes I've considered are as follows: - Warlock|Swordmage: something along the lines of the Darth Vader build. I haven't really fleshed this out since I think the build requires human for the third at-will, but at paragon it puts some serious debuffs on enemies using Psychic Lock, Protective Hex, and Aegis of Shielding using a Githyanki Silver longsword (reflavored for Eberron if needed). - Sorcerer|Paladin: sorc damage w/plate armor (though Aeron's AC beats this build, even against mastercrafted plate). This build is essentially straight forward, but Aeron would probably end up with one of a few implement combinations that don't resemble anything he's using right now (e.g. dagger-dagger, staff-dagger, longsword-dagger, dagger-shield). - Battlemind: harrier version with various shifting/teleporting powers and feats; a poor choice for an eladrin, though, and Aeron would probably end up using a warhammer and shield which has no resemblance to his current build. I have a great harrier glaive build but it really benefits as a dwarf, so meh. Feedback or other suggestions are welcome.

This is a little out of left field, but have you considered hexblade? Mostly I'm asking because it's a melee striker class that would give you access to ethereal sidestep and arcana.
Also, what is your stat block, anyway?

18,18,16,12,12,8; this is -23 points.
Insane, I know I know! And you had me trim it down from what it was when we initially rolled (I think the 16 was a 17, a 12 was a 14, and the 8 an 11). But my "lucky" d6s seem to do a lot of people good. I think Mike's scores for MJ remain better.

...
Well then. Those certainly are some ridiculous scores. XD
David plays a Sorc|Paladin in Kyle's game and it's done quite well in helping battles along. The only problem, and he's pointed this out himself, is the way HP scales with value. Unless that's been fixed somehow.
As for me, I really do think Gwen will be departing. She does appreciate everything the others have done to keep her safe in battle, but she feels she needs to delve into the going-ons of her house on her own. Even without the info the Rakshasha gave her, she feels uneasy with what she sees and wants to seek the counsel of her father. From there, it depends on what she gets from the conversation/confrontation.

... Well then. Those certainly are some ridiculous scores. XD Thus my embarrassment; with the glut of extra points flying around, I would not be opposed to distributing all our characters' (after you and Gabe have rerolled abilities, of course) excess points equally across the group. Call it a twist in time-space or call it fate. Or not. David plays a Sorc|Paladin in Kyle's game and it's done quite well in helping battles along. The only problem, and he's pointed this out himself, is the way HP scales with value. Unless that's been fixed somehow. I've seen the build and I like most of it as-is. I would try to pick up Dual Implement Spellcaster instead of one of the "Superior NAD" feats and make 2 or three power changes. The lowered speed is off-putting, but not a deal breaker; Sparkform and Mark of Passage go well together. As for me, I really do think Gwen will be departing. She does appreciate everything the others have done to keep her safe in battle, but she feels she needs to delve into the going-ons of her house. Even without the info the Rakshasha gave her, she still feels uneasy with what she sees and wants to seek the counsel of her father. From there, it depends on what she gets from the conversation/confrontation. In the event that Gwen has no motive, are you suggesting that you will be building a new character or leaving the game entirely?

New character.
I enjoy the game and the company of all you who play with me. It's a much better experience than when I tried to pick up 3.5 and I would not leave unless forced to by a permanent change to my schedule that dictated as such.
Currently I'm tinkering with a Wizard build that leans toward being a blaster of sorts.

On the subject of Gwen leaving: hold that thought. She may find her goals coinciding with the party's in the near future. Obviously, she doesn't know that, but I thought you should.

Yeah, I think Zach alluded to a "wait and see" stance in the last sentence of the "ridiculous scores" post. Edit: "[W]as alluded"? Really? Is it that difficult to proofread a single sentence?

As I've looked over the Hexblade I believe I am 99% certain I will be respecing that direction and my mind is racing with ideas.
Good call!
